9/11 Luncheon Mission BBQ
Mission BBQ – 9/11 Remembrance Lunch – Weston
Mission BBQ has invited our members to join them for a 9/11 remembrance lunch on Friday, September 11 at their Weston location, 4412 Weston Road.
Mission BBQ has consistently supported our officers, our lodge, and our law enforcement community at numerous events. This is an opportunity for us to return that support and stand with them as we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor those who continue to serve.
We are asking as many members as possible to come out and participate. Please come in uniform. We will gather at approximately 11:00 AM, and there will be a live performance of the National Anthem.
Mission BBQ will also be providing a free sandwich.
Please make an effort to attend. A strong turnout from Lodge 189 would mean a great deal and is a simple way for us to support a business that has repeatedly supported us.
Paycheck Check!
Bring your most recent pay stub and stop by for coffee while we review your paycheck to make sure your wages, hours, deductions, pension and benefit contributions, step increases, and other contractual benefits are being calculated correctly.
This is a simple opportunity for members to sit down with the Lodge, ask questions, and make sure every dollar and benefit you have earned is properly reflected on your paycheck.
PD V FD Softball
Join us for the Miramar Police vs. Fire Softball Showdown on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
This family-friendly event brings our police and fire families together for an afternoon of friendly competition and food. We’re looking for players to take the field, and we encourage members to bring their families out to cheer on both teams and enjoy a BBQ lunch.
Whether you’re playing, bringing the family, or just coming out to support, please register in advance so we can properly plan for food and drinks.

Kick 4 Kids Fundraiser
Join us for Kicks 4 Kids, a fun-filled kickball fundraiser dedicated to providing new shoes to children in need!
We are looking for volunteers to step onto the field, play kickball, and help us raise money for this important cause. No special skills are required just bring your energy, team spirit, and willingness to have a great time while supporting local children.

This Zoom session will explain officers’ rights under Florida’s PTSD and Heart and Lung protections, including workers’ compensation coverage, legal presumptions, reporting requirements, available benefits, and how to properly navigate the claims process.

UDS Health Scan
UDS will be conducting early detection diagnostic testing, which has proven successful in identifying actionable pathologies to improve overall health as well as early detection for cancer and cardiovascular issues. Early detection has had a significant impact on helping prevent and reverse potential future catastrophic events.

Commission Proclamation
During Police Week, Commissioner Edwards will present the Fraternal Order of Police with a proclamation honoring the men and women who serve our community. This is the first time in years that our department is being recognized in this way, and it is an important moment for every officer and for the unity of our profession.
Home Clean Up
FOP is coming together once again to serve a resident in need through our second community cleanup project. This effort will help a disabled resident who is facing multiple code violations and needs assistance restoring the exterior of the home. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to lend a hand with yard cleanup, debris removal, and general exterior cleanup. Your time and effort can make a real difference for someone in our community.
